Geocaching fun fun fun!

When I first met Jacob...We became friends due to lots of silly things. One of these things was a love of treasure hunts. I had just started reading about geocaching and he was super interested..So together we decided to give it a go!

I wanted to do something around the whole querrilla art scene first of all.. Incorporating knitted tags..secret postcards and a postbox to mail them into once done. I thought this would be absolutely AMAZING! So...We went for it!

But sadly the first little tag was stolen within days and we found it really complicated to set up the whole postcard idea!

However...This little guy survived! He looks a bit shabby! But he's still there now!

Then we tried the whole letterboxing idea..Made a stamp and everything!

We even bought a book!

But people are so so mean! And they smashed the whole thing up and threw the stamp in the river! :( SAD! So we concentrated on finding treasure.. We didn't do so well! The whole geocaching scene didn't seem to be happening round here!

But TODAY!! That all changed because with the awesome Geocaching application for my new iPhone..

We found out that there were actually 3 hidden around our local area.. 10 minutes away actually...So we head out!

And found... Our first one!!

WOAH! Crocodile shaped! COOOOL!

With the log hidden inside!

And.. Our second one!

Full of awesome goodies..

We couldn't find the third one...But never mind, we had so much fun.. It even inspired our doodle schmoodles "If you go down to the woods"

Here's mine...

And Noah's...

See how inspired we were.. We both had the same idea! Cute huh??

Go try geocaching for yourself.. It's awesome fun!!

It makes me so sad that there's people out there that deliberately destroy or ruin something someone else made that was meant to make people HAPPY when they stumbled upon it. Why do people have to ruin GOOD in the world ??? *sigh*

I am definitely going to check into geocaching because it sounds super fun !!!!! I bet there's something like that here in Seattle!

that sounds really fun! people are so ignorant around here, it probably wouldn't work :( it'd be so fun to leave postcards at random places though, and see if anyone mails them back....now you've got me thinking lol.

I did letterboxing (we made a stamp too) but you are right, there are a LOT of mean people who ruin things like that. I need to start geocaching, it seems like a lot of people in my area do it so there must be some sort of scene here in Houston.

I've been wanting to do this geocaching for a while, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I can't believe that people ruined all the fun stuff you made.. WHY!? Imagine the boring lives they must live.. poor them.

I hate it when people ruin stuff, especially as they probably don't get what it is actually for, grr!

But the geocaching looks awesome fun, the crocodile is sweet! Did you leave something behind aswell? ♥ ♥
